ACEC Life/Health Trust
The ACEC Life/Health Trust was formed in 1965 to provide aggregate group life and health benefit plans to its ACEC member employers. The Trust's unique structure allows engineers to have a voice in how their benefits are administered. Through the Trust, ACEC members receive both product and price flexibility.
Today, there are approximately 1,400 employer groups and 75,000 members participating in the Trust. Current Trust firms range in size from 1 to 600 employees with an average group size of 28.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) is the oldest and largest association of engineering companies and is the voice of America’s engineering industry. The Council’s mission is to contribute to America’s prosperity and welfare by advancing the business interests of its member firms.

UnitedHealthcare has administered the ACEC Life/Health Trust since August 2007, and offers medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance to Trust members. Individual employer groups each receive Illinois Fully Insured certificates of coverage from UnitedHealthcare.
The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), the ACEC Life/Health Insurance Trust and UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company are three separate legal operating entities and, as such, the organizations are governed and function independently. UnitedHealthcare’s services are provided with the authorization of the ACEC Life/Health Trust. Questions related to health benefits offered through the ACEC Life/Health Trust should be directed to 1-800-573-0415. Must be UnitedHealthcare insurance license products; and HMO products do not apply. ACEC membership qualification is determined by the association.
